The Chardonnay grape variety
Chardonnay is a very versatile international white grape variety, appreciated for its fruity aromas and balanced structure (notes of apple, citrus and tropical fruit in general).

Chardonnay in the Mantua area and in Volta Mantovana.
In the Volta Mantovana area (part of the Garda Colli Mantovani DOC and Alto Mincio IGT), Chardonnay finds favorable conditions thanks to the well-draining morainic soils and the temperate climate near Lake Garda, which favors good ripening of the grapes with aromatic freshness and balanced acidity.
Here it is produced as a still dry white wine – typical of the Garda Colli Mantovani Chardonnay DOC with a straw yellow color and a fine and characteristic olfactory profile, often with elegant aromas of citrus, golden apple and white flowers.
Overall, the Volta Mantovana Chardonnay combines freshness, flavor, and good structure, making it suitable for pairing with appetizers, fish dishes, and regional Lombard cuisine.
