The Merlot grape variety
Merlot is one of the most widespread and recognized red grape varieties in the world. It is prized for its smoothness, rounded tannins, and easy drinking, characteristics that make it highly versatile both alone and in blends.

The mild climate and hilly terrain help the grapes ripen well, producing balanced and fragrant wines. Merlot is often vinified in stainless steel to preserve the fruit's flavor, sometimes with a brief stint in oak.
It is a wine suitable for accompanying many local dishes and represents a good example of how an international grape variety can adapt to the Mantua region.
Merlot in the Mantua area and in Volta Mantovana.
The Merlot from the Volta Mantovana area expresses a balanced, soft, and territorial style, the result of the encounter between the international grape variety and the soil and climate conditions of the Mantuan moraine hills.
Color: intense ruby red, with purple reflections in young wines
It stands out for its clean and immediate bouquet, characterised by ripe red fruit: cherry, morello cherry, plum.
